Bréana Janae Parks, is a Black Filipinx artist from the Bay Area that works with photography and mixed media to explore topics such as identity, spirituality, self exploration, personal histories, and social issues. She studied Visual Arts Media, emphasis in Photography and minored in Ethnic Studies at the University of California, San Diego.
As a mixed race individual, Parks resists being categorized personally and artistically. Her choice of medium shifts in response to the themes she engages with, allowing the work to guide the form rather than the other way around.
